Joanne Phillips-Robinson, Group Music Teacher
Jo is a friendly and warm teacher with experience as a piano teacher, singer and Music Therapist. She holds a degree in music from the University of Surrey and has almost 20 years teaching experience, gained through work as a peripatetic instrumental teacher in schools and as a private instrumental teacher at home. She holds the Certificate of Teaching from the ABRSM.
Having had a strong interest in SEN, Jo gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Music Therapy from Roehampton University and has used these skills to underpin much of her subsequent teaching. As a keen singer, Jo has also used these skills to run singing sessions for people with a dementia diagnosis and their carers.
Jo is known for her friendly personality and her adaptable teaching style. Being an educator comes naturally and Jo also has experience working in a nursery setting - this, combined with being a mother of 2 herself, puts her in good stead for communicating musically with young children.
